publishing integrity

This image is the front page of of a UK daily called "The Independant" - one of the more lefty papers out there.

As you can see, the entire front page is dominated by a single strong image from the conflict in Lebanon, and is supported by the headline caption: "How can we stand by and allow this to go on?".
It is, off the bat, an emotive and powerful image.

But beneath the surface, is there something more sinister at work here, and how much of the media coverage we swallow daily has been tampered/altered/tailored before it reaches us?

Please read this thoroughly engrossing post from a UK blogger that explores the background to this scene from Qana and questions the integrity of publisers around the world who export imagery that without question, sells papers.
